Learning from ChatGPT Incidents
Recent controversies involving ChatGPT usage by lawyer Steven Schwartz and a Pakistani judge highlight the ethical implications of AI in law. Schwartz unintentionally caused an ethical dilemma by citing six non-existent legal decisions generated by ChatGPT, underscoring the vital responsibility lawyers have in using AI tools. The Pakistani judge, on the other hand, employed ChatGPT to devise legal questions for a juvenile case, signifying AI's potential in aiding the justice system. These incidents emphasize the necessity of human oversight when using AI, reinforcing the irrefutable responsibility legal professionals bear while deploying AI in their practice.

We have learned from these instances and designed our tool to assist in legal research rather than generating content that could potentially mislead users. Our system has multiple checks and balances in place to prevent the creation of non-existent legal cases or the provision of false results. However, we emphasize that while LawScript is a powerful tool for legal research, it is ultimately the responsibility of the user to verify the information and ensure its veracity before presenting it in a legal context.
Rigorous and Repeated Testing
We believe that perfection is a pursuit, not a destination. And with this belief, we have committed ourselves to an exhaustive cycle of training, integrating, and fine-tuning LawScript. Over six months, we meticulously worked on this AI tool, refining its capabilities, enhancing its accuracy, and streamlining its interface.
